Description
Hi
Since there is no calendar application in SHR, and since none of the existing ones in other distros can be installed, I think it would be great to add the "dates" and "tasks" applications in the repository.
I am not saying they must be installed by default, since we are waiting for opimd for PIM data storage, but please let the user choose.
Pimlico : http://www.pimlico-project.org/dates.html
I tried to use this tip : http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/Pimlico#SHR , but broke my SHR after reboot

Hi
I tried it, and it seemed ok, but with a file containing 300 appointments , it got slower and slower and freezes. It is ok with small set of datas. I tried several times. And I REALLY prefer pimlico calendar because it uses the evolution data storage type

Hi,
have you tried gpe-calendar? I have tested pimlico dates and IMHO a calendar application without alarms is a useless thing.
Please have a look at http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/GPECalendar - I am able to use it a as fully functional calendar application with SHR testing.
I think a better solution would be to recompile gpe-calendar with correction to the problem 6 mentioned on the page (closing/exiting of the application) and possibly add a way to have user-defined alarm sounds in gpe-calendar.
