Contacts : Add letter shortcuts on the right

Description

It is hard to easily find a contact among many. I propose to add on the right side a vertical list of button like That "ABC", "DEF", "HIJ" etc. The best would have to display only 5 button (to keep them wide and high). So with 26 letter, we could choose : "A-E", "F-J", "K-O" , "P-T", "U-Z". A 6th button for number and dots ?

Not such a good idea, since some people use international contact names as well as english. though I do agree a shortcut is in dire need.

  • Priority changed from major to minor

what about a quicksearch field... you type the first letter and only those contacts with this letter on the first place show up... you type the second letter and your contact list will be even more "filtered"

but.. then you would need a fingerfriendly keyboard.. i really like the idea of big "jump to" buttons.. i already saw it in qtextended and it is very helpful.. please implement this... as scrolling sucks hard even with stylus (wth is the scroll bar so small)
