Description

mplayer is slower then in unstable release before. It takes more time to start him, to change the track.
And its unpossible do multitasking while playing.
Renice mplayer process dont solve that problem.

Is it a newer version of mplayer?

mhm..
I'm actually using the mplayer-balrog version with glamo driver and it's slow too.. Maybe it's related with the new kernel or some recently updated library.. don't know..

Not fixed for me:
Starting mplayer takes more time untill it starts. Before starting I always get that error msg:
(Seems to be a general problem with the audio device, openmoocoow give error msgs too and make no sound)
[AO OSS] audio_setup: Can't open audio device /dev/dsp: No such file or directory
[AO OSS] audio_setup: Can't open audio device /dev/dsp: No such file or directory
AO: [alsa] 48000Hz 2ch s16le (2 bytes per sample)
Video: no video
Starting playback...
C 98.6 (01:38.6) of 226.0 (03:46.0) 28.4%

Playing with the "old Testing-Release" initializied faster and I didn't have to renice the process to do multitasking.
