I was common problem for all devices, fixed in 044.

in 044 the X-server still does not boot (jiffs/ubi) on GTA02.
Booting ends with: "Please wait: booting"

Just tested 044 with uSD and Xserver starts here.. so if you've used dfu-util to write jffs2/ubi image then I guess your fs is broken (I've seen reports about that), try uSD image or use nandwrite from some other distro on uSD to write jffs2/ubifs image instead of dfu-util.

workaround, start on console:
/usr/bin/xinit /etc/X11/Xsession -- /etc/X11/Xserver
