Xorg.log: PreInit returned NULL for "Power Button" (probably harmless)

Reported by: MMlosh Owned by: JaMa
Priority: minor Milestone:
Component: SHR Image Version: SHR-unstable
Keywords: Cc: MMlosh

Description

After today's upgrade Xorg does not start anymore.
Power Button seems to be "connected" twice.
When removed from xorg.conf, same error for AUX and touchscreen appear.
After removing those as well, X does not start and does not provide any more errors.

  • Priority changed from major to critical

one (potentiall important) note: may be related to #1099 ("root in nand" symptoms)

  • Priority changed from critical to minor
  • Summary changed from X not starting: PreInit returned NULL for "Power Button" to Xorg.log: PreInit returned NULL for "Power Button" (probably harmless)

Sorry, that message is quite common and harmless.

The thing that prevented my X from starting was "alias ls='ls --color'" instead of correct "alias ls='ls --color=auto'" I learned to use because /etc/profile is not honored as configuration file and is being constantly overwritten.
